When a user submits an event through the event calendar submission form ( http://mauinow.com/events/?submit=1 ), an email will be sent to events@mauinow.com, with a subject of “Maui Now Event Submission” .
If the event is valid, click the “To Edit/Approve” link at the top of the message. This will take you to the Maui Now Wordpress Dashboard. You might need to login to approve the event. Upon approval, an email will be sent to the submitting user, notifying them of their new event listing.
If the event is not valid (advertisement, or non-Maui event), simply ignore the “Maui Now Event Submission” email.
- Venue: This field will autofill the address/city if it's already in the system. Start by typing a venue name in the textbox, and use the up/down arrow keys to select a pre-saved venue.
- Event Timeframe: Only fill in the time of day (i.e. 1pm - 2pm)
- Featured (checkbox): Items checked as featured will be put at the top of the day's event list, and labeled with a “Featured” tag. Unless specified by sales/management, leave this unchecked.
- Youtube Video Link: If the event has a Youtube video associated with it, add the link to this field. (i.e. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ALsJxDYUwAw )
- Tags: You can select more than one tag… EVERY EVENT MUST HAVE AT LEAST ONE TAG SELECTED
- Event Date: If the event is non-recurring (Not every Monday, Tues, Wed…), select the event date.
- Event End Date: If the event occurs within a date range, enter the end date for the event. Leave this field blank if the event is only one day, or if it is a weekly recurring event.
- Recurring Event: If the event occurs every week, leave the “Event Date/Event End Date” fields blank, and select the days of week the event happens on.
- Event Image: Try to have an image available for every event. To add an image, click the “Upload Image” button. You can either upload an image or select one from the Media Library. Once you have selected the appropriate image, click “Insert Into Post”
