The hurricane tracker feature displays an alert icon in the header of Maui Now.
The hurricane tracker will automatically display in the header when the following criteria is applied:
If there are no hurricane tracker alerts, the default weather icon/temperature widget will display in the header. The hurricane alert dropdown displays the most recent article in the “Hurricane Tracker” category.
The alert icon will display a red “!” icon when a new hurricane tracker article is posted AND the user has not already clicked the alert icon. Once the user clicks the alert icon, the red “!” will no longer display, until a new article is posted. If the article has been updated after the user has read it, the red “!” will display again.
The below screenshots display the alert icon in it's various states:
This is the default header. When there is no hurricane alert, the weather icon/temperature will display.
When a hurricane alert is posted, and the user has not yet clicked the icon, the hurricane alert icon will display with red “!”
Once the user has clicked the hurricane alert icon, the red “!” will no longer display.
When the user clicks the hurricane alert icon, the above dropdown displays the latest “Hurricane Tracker” article, along with a button to view the hurricane tracker radar.
